The Wrap-Up asks students to read aloud their sentences and reflect on whether they "sound like something you would say," using the reflexive/intensive form "yourself," so students are prompted to produce and speak sentences that include these pronouns.

The Combining Sentences activity instructs students to "Use pronouns when possible" when combining clauses. The sample possible answer for item 3 uses an intensive pronoun: "he did not do any of the actual work himself."
