1: Environment and Cycles

Unit 1

Unit 1: The Wanderer

The Student Activity Page includes the prompt "What I like best about myself...," which uses the intensive pronoun "myself." The Wrap-Up asks students to read aloud their sentences and reflect on whether they "sound like something you would say," using the reflexive/intensive form "yourself," so students are prompted to produce and speak sentences that include these pronouns.
Unit 2

Unit 2: The People of Sparks

The Combining Sentences activity instructs students to "Use pronouns when possible" when combining clauses. The sample possible answer for item 3 uses an intensive pronoun: "he did not do any of the actual work himself." The activity asks students to practice combining sentences and to use pronouns to make sentences flow smoothly.

Unit 1

Unit 1: Tuck Everlasting

The "Things to Know" section defines intensive pronouns and contrasts them with reflexive pronouns, including the example The museum director herself led the tour. The Parts of Speech Sentences V activity asks students to find and label pronouns in sentences and offers an option to focus on pronouns only. The answer key images label pronouns in sample sentences, showing student work that includes identification of pronouns in context.
