City of Ember book - posted from Annapolis, MD

We checked out the City of Ember audiobook from the library and listened to it over the weekend before watching the movie. The book provides a lot of background information that is not found in the movie. My daughter was able to compare the book to the movie in her review. She enjoyed the book much more than the movie.

The City of Ember Movie Heads Up - posted from ,

We watched this movie together as a family, and we enjoyed it. However, I did not appreciate the scary mole scenes -

especially for my nine year old, who has an adept visual memory. Wish I knew before hand about these scenes. I thought they were unnecessary, and am saddened that this type of scene is deemed "family friendly." When Lina and Doon first go looking for the way out of Ember, they hear noises in the adjacent hall and hide their lights. This is one point I would have sensitive kids leave the room. Another is when the mayor locks the door on his partner in crime. Just a heads up.
