Secular Book Alternative- posted from Baltimore, MD
I was surprised MBTP chose Small Acts of Kindness since they are supposed to be a secular curriculum. I found a decent alternative in Kindness is Cooler Mrs. Ruler. I had to adapt a few of the activities but overall it worked well with the lesson plan.

If you want to address spiritual content in this lesson:
I wanted to emphasize that the reason we do kind things is because God loved us first, not to earn God's approval. So before starting this lesson, I found some coloring pages on line with verses such as "We love because he first loved us," "As I have loved you, love one another," and "Be kind to one another, loving, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." I've been giving them to my son, one a day, and discussing the reason we are kind/loving/forgiving is because God loves us.
