First experiment didn't work for us - posted from Fox Point, WI

I'm not sure how the first experiment was supposed to work. The pencils that MBTP sent do not fit in our pencil sharpener, so we had to use our own, but nothing happens when we plug them into the battery with the electrodes. Maybe our pencils don't have the right graphite composition? Standard-sized pencils or sharpened pencils would have been great. So we watched the scene from the Martian where he blows himself up trying to make water for his potatoes.

Separating H and O - posted from APO, AE, AE

If you have the Energy science kit (science wiz) from Level 9-11, C1, Unit 2, there is a packet inside labelled 'Split Water Experiment'. The instructions are in the accompanying book on p. 46 under Fuel Cells. I found this much easier than using pencil leads.
