For Activity 3:Conserving Water we watched the video on BrainPop titled "Water Supply". I think it went along nicely with this lesson. BrainPop> Science> Our Fragile Environment> Water Supply.

I found great videos on BrainPop for each of the activites in this lesson. For activity 1: Nonrenewable Natural Resources we watched the video entitled "Natural Resources". This can be found under the Science section, once there click on "Our Fragile Environment". This section also has a great "Sortify" game which you can sort thru renewable and non-renewable resources.

If you're anything like me you might not have 25 nickles and dimes sitting around the house for the first activity. I really liked the idea of the lesson and didn't want my son to miss it so I made these tiles to replace the nickles and dimes. They are small and feature 3 common non-renewable resources. I found them easy to hide and my son got a visual reminder of nonrenewable natural resources every time he found a tile. Plus once he found all of a particular tile (i.e. gas) I tied it back to the lesson reminding him that once a nonrenewable natural resource is gone there will be no more.
