Spanish 2. What do the three vertical stripes in the Mexican flag represent? Green symbolizes independence, white is for the Roman Catholic religion, and red is for union. 3. Today's capital of Mexico, Mexico City, was founded on the site of what ancient civilization? Mexico City was founded on the site of Tenochtitlán, the capital of the Aztec civilization.

We are working on mapping and concepts of maps themselves. Many of our Indigenous Elders used language, song, weaving patterns and stories to map place names. We are making our own maps in both mathematical scale drawings, as well as tonal songs as an introduction to wayfinding, orientation, and "boundaries".
