Birchbark House is a must read! - posted from Hopkinton, NH
I just wanted to second the family who read the Birchbark House! We love it, and I love that it's a Native American story that's written by a Native author and from the point of view of a Native American family.... As much as we loved The Sign of the Beaver, it's good to have a Native voice in the mix!!!
Birchbark House - posted from Lancaster, PA
We read aloud The Birchbark House by Louise Erdich. It is an amazing story about the Ojibwa tribe on Lake Superior. The kids loved learning more about the Northeast Native Americans through this text.
