This unit was such a hit in my house! We printed a small picture of each hero as well as something that represented her/him and then pasted on a 1/2 page with the "hero card". Then bound them all together. My little hero was thrilled to make his own page to add to the book!

We added to this unit by including an 8x10 portrait of each hero. We followed the same order of the timeline and put them across the room. It really helped the children to have a visual to put with the text. And it was amazing to see how well they were able to recognize each hero!
