Another gem of a book we found at the library that was useful for this and the following lessons.
We also enjoyed adding titles from the "If You Were Me and Lived In..." series of books for the next lessons (i.e. South Korea, Kenya, . Describes life in different cultures from a child's perspective and short enough for my child to read out loud.
Book about moving to Asia - posted from Dhahran, Eastern Province
As a supplemental reading to this lesson, we enjoyed "The Way We Do It In Japan" by Geneva Cobb Iijima, about Gregory, who moves with his parents to Japan. It is a great way to highlight things that a child would find different or surprising in a foreign culture.

Enchanted Learning has a great printable book on the giant panda, which is very helpful with the research questions provided by MBtP. The pdf version is accessible only to site members, but non-members can view the book as webpages.
