Horrible final project- posted from woodinvile, WA
This is a horrible project. Both of my kids made the "Wind Turbine" from the lesson, using the parts from the science kits, and it failed completely. My husband works with alternative energy and he could not make it work with the parts provided. The parts included were not as listed (or drawn) and look like someone went to a hardware store and said "well good enough", the magnet provided is so weak it barely sticks to a hammer, and parts were completely missing out of the kit that should have been there.
Overall, this is a horrible lesson and I suggest that parents find a wind turbine online to build for the final project, rather than to deal with the frustration of making this project from the parts provided and fail miserably.
