Another good book to read along with, "The Little House" is, "The World That Jack Built", by Ruth Brown. It is out of print, but I was able to get a used copy at Amazon.com.
Living History museum- posted from Baton Rouge, LA
We're heading to the LSU Rural History museum today to complement the lesson. Many communities have at least small local history museums that display collections of goods used in the past. We love the Steamboat Arabia museum in Kansas City, also Conner Prairie in Indianapolis.
