Hooks For Readers - posted from El Dorado Hills, CA

Following is a link to NPR's story on "Great Opening Lines to Hook Young Readers." It has a listing of several books and the first paragraph(s) for the books. The last book, The Voyage of The Dawn Treader by C.S. Lewis, doesn't have the first paragraph printed, but it is certainly worth looking-up to share since it's a good laugh. Reading these snippets was a great warm-up for the "Hooks For Readers" activity.
