Use a homemade scene with the ocean, land and sky visible. Have your child use animal toys to sort how each on travels, in addition to the acting out activity.

As well as acting out how the animals move in the air, on land, or in the water, we extended that activity. I drew an island in the water on a large piece of paper and we went through the book, page by page, and drew in the animals (and plants, etc) in their places on land, sea, or in the air. This led to lovely in depth conversations about the animals and their habitats.
