Opinion writing is not quite the same thing as persuasive writing, but it can get your child started in the right direction. The Not So Wimpy Teacher has a free download with video lessons (designed for 10 days of quick lessons - so the writing process is not rushed). I love how she breaks it down into easy steps. In order to download you have to join the mailing list (you can always remove yourself if you would like right after you receive it.)
