A Standards-Based Secular Curriculum Designed for Independent Learning
Many standards-based curricula were created for classroom teachers working with large groups of students. As a result, they often require significant teacher-led instruction and classroom management.
Beyond the Page takes a different approach. We designed our curriculum specifically for students learning at home or in independent study programs.
With Beyond the Page, students work through engaging lessons with clear instructions, while parents and teachers provide guidance and support as needed.

Online Access to Student Curriculum
When you support 20 to 40 students, it is not practical to keep copies of every curriculum on hand. That's why we provide teachers with online access to the curriculum used by their students.
If a student is enrolled in a paid Beyond the Page program, you can receive teacher access at no additional cost.
Teacher access allows you to:
- Review assignments before meeting with students
- Quickly locate lessons when students need assistance
- Reference rubrics when evaluating student work
- Better understand the concepts students are studying
- Provide more meaningful academic support during check-ins

Flexible Placement for Every Student
Students learn best when they are appropriately challenged. Because children develop at different rates, grade-level placement is not always the best fit.
Beyond the Page uses age ranges instead of grade levels to encourage flexible placement. This approach allows teachers and parents to select the level that best matches a student's academic readiness without concerns about moving a student above or below grade level.
Whether a student needs additional support or is ready for greater challenge, our placement system helps families find the right fit.

Professional Development and Training
Beyond the Page combines literature, critical thinking, project-based learning, and interdisciplinary instruction in a way that may be different from other curriculum programs.
