According to the creator " The purpose of this web site is to help students learn about the Native Americans. It will act as a supplement to class materials in meeting objectives such as understanding Native American culture and plants and animals that lived in their region.

This site has been designed by Maria Poccia for Mrs. Barbacano 2nd grade classroom at Bowman Elementary School in Lexington, Massachusetts. I am a student at Boston University studying Social Studies Education in the School of Education. This site is a requirement for the course ED101, which contributes to satisfying the Massachusetts licensing requirements for coursework in Educational Technology."

This a wonderful video that gives a great overview of the Southwest Native Americans. It is filled with good information about their homes, dress, foods they ate and where the lived in the country. It runs almost 12 minutes, so it's worth your time.

Dig deep into the science of corn with this handout from Illinois Ag Mag. The very first page discusses the Title topic. You might be surprised!

Warning: This video does contain images of war. However, I did not see any gore. It is such an interesting story. You get to hear the actual code that was used by the USMC during the battle of Iwo Jima by a Code Talker. It does not get into the details of the unbreakable part of it.

Heres one more link. A video about using a throwing stick for hunting small game. My daughter enjoyed watching it. He goes into a lot of detail about the way to throw so you might want to skip to the end of the video to just watch him throwing and hitting a target.
