This unit is an extension of the previous unit on place value and gives your child additional practice with adding and subtracting two-digit numbers. In addition to this practice, your child will discover how to apply the addition and subtraction strategies that she knows to adding and subtracting three-digit numbers and will learn how to borrow when subtracting. She will also continue to work on sequencing and comparing three-digit numbers. For the unit's final project, your child will calculate travel distances across the fictional "Mathlandia."
