Math Unit - Multiplication and Division II (/Online)
by Caroline Eidson, Ph.D.
$7.50
As an extension of Unit 1, this unit builds on your child's conceptual understanding of multiplication and division and introduces additional properties of multiplication: the zero property, the one/identity property, the associative property, and the distributive property. Your child will use these properties and other approaches and strategies to solve a range of multiplication problems.
She will also develop an understanding of and practice multiplying by multiples of 10. As well, your child will review division and use number lines to model it. Throughout the unit, she will develop her mastery of multiplication and division facts by working with the multiples of 6, 7, 8, and 9 and by creating more fact families. She will apply her mastery of these facts to a range of problem solving activities and games.
For the unit final project, your child will use multiplication to create plans for a picnic, including food and activities, for 60 people.
