Age 8-10 Math Materials Kit

Sku: 2618
$85.00

The Age 8-10 Math Materials Kit provides materials used in the full year of Age 8-10 math activities. Students model division with counters, practice multi-digit multiplication with dominoes, build equivalent fractions on a geoboard, compare decimals on hundredths grids, and test lines of symmetry with a mirror as they develop multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and geometry skills.

Build a Deeper Understanding of Math Concepts

This kit provides almost 30 materials used in activities throughout the math units. Here are a few examples your child will complete.

  • See What a Remainder Represents: Your child separates counters into equal groups and identifies any pieces left over. Seeing and moving the leftover counters makes remainders concrete and helps connect division, multiplication, quotients, and remainders.
  • Practice Multi-Digit Multiplication with Changing Numbers: Your child draws double-nine dominoes, uses the dots to create two-digit numbers, and multiplies them using a chosen strategy. Checking each product with a calculator provides immediate feedback while the random domino draws create new problems each round.
  • Build Equivalent Fractions Visually: Using rubber bands on a geoboard, your child models fractions such as 2/4 and 1/2 or 3/6 and 1/2. Comparing the regions shows that fractions with different numerators and denominators can still represent the same amount.
  • Compare Decimals with Hundredths Grids: Your child shades hundredths grids to represent decimals such as 0.32 and 0.29, then compares the shaded amounts. Making each decimal visible helps show why one value is greater than another.

Making Hands-On Math Easier to Implement

Math becomes more concrete when children can move counters, build fraction models, shade grids, and test geometric ideas for themselves. The Age 8-10 Math Materials Kit supports this active learning, helping children see mathematical relationships and understand why the methods they use work.
