The View from Saturday by E.L. Konigsburg tells the story of four unique sixth graders who form a close-knit team and support each other in unexpected ways. We dedicate three weeks to The View from Saturday. These are a few ways we incorporate this book into our curriculum:

• Character Analysis: Students will delve into the personalities, motivations, and growth of each member of The Souls and Mrs. Olinski. Through written assignments, they'll articulate the dynamics within the group and the individual challenges each character faces and overcomes.
• Theme Exploration: By examining themes such as friendship, diversity, and resilience, students will write reflective essays and participate in discussions.
• Creative Writing and Arts: Inspired by the novel's rich narrative and character development, students will engage in creative projects such as writing alternate endings, developing backstory for lesser-explored characters, or illustrating pivotal moments.
• Debate and Discussion: Students will engage in structured debates on key decisions made by characters, the impact of those decisions on the story, and how different choices might have altered outcomes.
