Me on the Map by Joan Sweeney helps young readers understand their place in the world, starting with their home and expanding to a broader view of geography. In our homeschool curriculum, Me on the Map is incorporated into our educational program in several ways:

• Mapping Skills: Students create their own maps, starting from their bedrooms and expanding out to their homes, neighborhoods, cities, states, and beyond. 
• Personal Geography Project: Learners relate personal experiences with geographical concepts, encouraging them to identify places they have visited or wish to explore on a map.
• Compass Directions: Building on the story's concepts, students learn about cardinal directions through interactive games and exploration activities.
